Relax!

Mindfulness and ADHD

My family is on vacation. Yesterday, I stayed out on the beach after the crowds were gone. It was wonderful. I just laid there with my eyes closed focused on the sound of the ocean and my breath. It got me thinking about what I should blog about. We can’t always just be in nature to relax so what else can we do?

Mindfulness is everywhere. Here are some resources I like:

  1. Insight Timer – https://insighttimer.com/ I get the irony in using an app to “let go” but this app is great. I like the guided sessions. I think some people are put off by meditation because they think they need to do it for a particular amount of time that seems out of reach for them. This app asks you how much time you have which is great enough a couple of minutes can change how we are thinking.
  2. Calm- https://www.mindful.org/how-to-find-time-to-meditate/ This app helps people relax learn to meditate and helps them sleep.
  3. Mindfulness for Teens with ADHD – https://www.newharbinger.com/mindfulness-teens-adhd This workbook focuses on easy skills to help teens with ADHD.
  4. Positive Psychology Program website – https://positivepsychologyprogram.com/mindfulness-for-children-kids-activities/ This website is full of fun activities and tips to get your children and teens into mindfulness practices.
  5. How To Find Time to Meditate https://www.mindful.org/how-to-find-time-to-meditate/ This article helps you find your best time and how to make it a habit.
